Drosanthemum speciosum is distributed mainly in the Worcester - Robertson Karoo and partly in the Little Karoo.
The plants bloom in spring and summer and make a beautiful display along the Western Cape roads.
Drosanthemum speciosum is an easy to grow and hardy plant that can withstand drought as well as regular watering. The plants are ideal for a garden in warmer climates although light frost should not present any problem.
The flower colour varies from yellow to orange to scarlet.
The soil should be well drained and full sunlight is preferred
