Tylecodon schaeferanus is a small species from Luderitz Bay on the west coast of Namibia in the Namib Desert. The plants are winter growing and have swollen greenish leaves.
Tylecodon schaeferanus has a tuberous root and the short light coloured stems are covered with fissured bark.
The flowers appear approximately in February at the end of the growing season.
